International financial Reporting Standard (IFRS)
The SEC has proposed a roadmap for possible mandatory adaption of IFRS by the end of 2014, and for some industries to become early adaptors. Real Estate is a prime target because organizations are global, capital intensive and competitive. Learn how this transition to a global uniform set of standards is an opportunity for real estate organizations to take a fresh look at their current business practices and technology enablers. For example, Deloitte consulting was recently engaged to configure and customize MRI to manage the appraisal process for fund and property level valuations, providing the client with visibility to book mark-to-market adjustments by comparing historical real estate costs to market valuations while enhancing the end to end appraisal business processes. Ken Meyer is a principal of Deloitte and leads the Real Estate consulting practice for the North East region. David Kratzke is a specialist leader.
